The kids actually fought over whose turn it was to sit on this while pulling on their boots, and my winter blankets stay neatly tucked away when summer rolls around. The wood feels solid and the lid closes without slamming little fingers, which is a huge win in our house.

The lid closes with a soft, gentle thud, so little fingers won't get slammed. We've got it piled with stuffed animals and throw blankets in the living room, and it honestly looks like a piece of furniture instead of a plastic bin. Great buy for the money.
